Dr. Tang is a strong believer in building supportive research communities and giving back to the field. An active member of both the STR Division and the Corporate Strategy Interest Group (CSIG) of the Strategic Management Society (SMS), she currently serves on the Research Committee of the STR Division (2026–2028) and organizes the STR Junior Faculty PDW. Previously, she was a member of the Membership Engagement Committee (MEC) of the STR Division from 2020–2023, where she helped organize several STRonger Together initiatives. At SMS, she served as a Representative-at-Large for the CSIG from 2023–2025, where she organized the Corporate Strategy Masterclass series and the SMS Junior Faculty PDW.
Dr. Tang is on the editorial boards of the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and the Journal of Organization Design, and is an ad-hoc reviewer for journals and conferences including Management Science, Strategy Science, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. She has received the Best Reviewer Award from the IM Division of AOM for her reviewing work.
At NUS Business School, Dr. Tang organizes the strategy seminar series for the Department of Strategy and Policy and was previously a member of the department's recruiting committee. She is also a co-organizer of the First Cut seminar series for schools in Singapore and advises several PhD students. She has served on the PhD dissertation committee for Xiaoteng Wu, whose first placement was at Peking University. Prior to joining NUS, Dr. Tang was an active member of the doctoral community at The Wharton School, where she co-founded and organized the Wharton Innovation Doctoral Symposium (WINDS), the leading student-run multi-disciplinary doctoral conference on innovation.
